Overview
Growing company in the Houston, TX area with multiple manufacturing locations has an excellent opportunity available for a Plant Manager. This position will manage a plant of 110 employees.
Base pay $180,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr
Additional compensation Annual Bonus
Responsibilities
Accountable for meeting plant production goals set by company through the manufacturing budget process.
Review, analyze, plan, coordinate and lead all activities within the manufacturing operations organization.
Assure the development and coordination of systems and programs to promote cost effective manufacturing operations in line with manufacturing plans and objectives.
Support programs and procedures that provide reliable products with minimal quality control, repair, scrap and warranty expense.
Assures attainment of programs and production schedules while insuring high quality standards.
Minimum qualifications
prefer MS/MA/MBA
15 years of manufacturing experience including operations, maintenance, quality control and good manufacturing practices
5 years experience in leadership role with proven record of delivering on targets
Experience in process industries and chemical processing
Experience of managing relations with government agencies
Proven ability to direct and lead plant operations to drive production results
Independent, passionate in their work, customer focused and safety oriented
Experience with plastics, resins, extrusion, injection molding, thermoplastics, polyolefins, polyethylene, polypropylene, PVC, compounding, HDPE, LLDPE, LDPE would be a plus.

Solid communication skills to include an open communication style.
Significant manufacturing knowledge as well as advanced interpersonal and supervisory skills.
Excellent communication skills and external customer presence and knowledge in targeted manufacturing market.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand complex technical issues
Excellent planning and communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with customers, senior management, and community and regulatory groups
Ability to multitask and quickly and effectively respond to issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Computer competency in MS Office, ERP, and MRO systems and ability to interpret engineering drawings and data.
Proven track record in managing technical, commercial, and personnel issues
Experience with welding and electrical, desired
Time and project management, problem solving, and management skills are critical.
Must be able to work and cultivate a team environment; empower others and drive operational excellence.
A champion of Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5S and SMED Principles.
Hands-on knowledge of production equipment. Ability to work in a fluid and changing environment. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and the use safety equipment.
In-depth knowledge of how to run a lean manufacturing environment.
Experience in creation of models and processes that adhere to safety and improved plant operations.
Flexible shift work schedules is essential to oversee 24/7 plant operations.
Ability to understand, interpret and communicate company Policies & Procedures
