On Site, Pittston, Pennsylvania What You Will Be Doing: This facility processes and distributes our outdoor equipment, footwear, and apparel with the latest in high tech material handling and storage equipment. Reporting directly to the Director, Warehousing of Americas, the DC manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Pittston Amer Sports warehouse facility to ensure the timely dispatch of products to customers. Responsibilities include receiving goods, storing inventory, picking and packing orders, and outbound shipping. The leader will optimize customer service and quality levels, manage a team of up to 70 employees, and maintain high standards of health and safety, quality, inventory control, and efficiency/cost control. Specific Responsibilities
may include: DC capacity planning and operations:
Plan DC activity and resources; ensure required storage capacity; track performance, cost, service, quality, and safety; communicate corrective actions including focus on customer claims management. Ensure standard operating procedures are in place and updated. Ensure compliance with national and professional regulations (security, safety, customs, OSHA, sustainability, etc.). Coordinate with inbound global transportation on inbound scheduling and optimize storage capacity and outbound throughput by streamlining workload and avoiding month-end peaks. Forecast activity, anticipate seasonal/promotional peaks, and maintain high efficiencies during low activity periods. Establish a quality control system using problem solving, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and error-proofing. Purchase and manage consumable inventory for DC activity and lead annual physical stock reconciliation. Manage, organize, and team development: Organize the team so that leaders are responsible for inbound, outbound, storage, VAS, carrier management, customs, lean/CI, IT/SAP, data analytics, and maintenance. Conduct regular activity reviews with team leaders to ensure KPI visibility and issue/action communication. Standardize functions with clear job descriptions and measurable objectives; promote cross-functional flexibility. Organize training plans and development to ensure retention and coverage of critical skills. Plan vacations to ensure continuity of standard functions. Establish and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs for health, safety, quality, inventory control, efficiency, costs, and performance. Ensure accountability and adherence to personal conduct and warehouse policies. Coach and support change management and mental well-being within the team. Budget and cost control: Collaborate with brand stakeholders and finance to define and maintain the annual DC budget. Review monthly results and yearly forecast with finance controllers. Monitor i-3PL targets, analyze deviations, and take corrective actions. Drive productivity initiatives and ensure timely follow-up. Provide forward-looking analysis and proactive communication in case of issues. Continuous improvement and productivity initiatives: Drive performance management, cost reduction, and efficiency with Lean/global teams. Lead continuous improvement to simplify standards and processes across the warehouse. Extend DC capabilities to serve Omnichannel with service orientation and cost efficiency. Ensure productivity activities deliver clear financial benefits to Amer Sports.
