We are seeking a candidate to perform the role of System Engineer - Senior, supporting PMA-262, the Persistent Maritime Unmanned Aircraft Systems Program Office. Salary : The estimated salary range is $170,000 — $200,000 annually, based on experience, skillset, and education. This range is an estimate and may vary based on contractual constraints. We strive for equitable compensation. Location : Patuxent River, MD Work Environment : On-Site Responsibilities
Perform systems engineering duties in architecting, designing, integrating and testing aircraft and weapons systems. Conduct basic and applied research to evaluate adaptability of computer software and hardware to aircraft and ground station design and manufacture. Recommend improvements in testing equipment and techniques. Serve as System Architect. Coordinate technical input from NAVAIR subject matter experts to form technical recommendations to program engineering and program management. Oversee the efforts of less senior staff on projects. Ensure project procedures and controls are followed, manage staffing, and lead problem-resolution efforts. Interface with system or program Contractors, vendors and Government representatives regarding the technical aspects of programs/projects. Education & Experience
Active DoD Secret Clearance is required; TS/SCI preferred. Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (Education substitutions not allowed). At least ten (10) years of experience in Systems Engineering supporting DoD aircraft, weapons, or related DoD systems, including design, development, integration and testing of computer hardware, software, and navigation, sensor and communication subsystems. Versatile, willing to mentor younger engineers, strong communications skills, well-versed in UAS. Travel
