Global Engineering Services (GES) NA Ops Engineering is searching for an innovative and solutions-oriented engineering project leader to develop and deliver next-generation, world-class sortation and transportation systems. The Firm Engineering Team will support retrofit designs for first mile retrofits as well as controls & solutions development for future projects.
Description
Amazon's GES NA Ops Engineering team seeks a leader to manage projects involving the design of advanced sortation and logistics systems, including retrofit designs and control solutions for fulfillment centers globally. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing multiple projects, and traveling up to 50% internationally.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate design and innovation efforts for the fulfillment network, focusing on equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions quickly.
Manage multiple projects, influence stakeholders, and communicate effectively with partners and vendors.
Present technical solutions and business cases to senior executives.
Travel up to 50% globally to engage with technical and business leaders.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Design, or related field.
At least 3 years of experience in a design-related role.
Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, robotics, and high-speed manufacturing systems.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
Additional years of experience in design roles.
