Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supervisor of Field Engineering to lead and support our regional field engineering and superintendent teams across multiple states.
This role is critical to the success of our Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) infrastructure deployments, maintenance, and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, organizational, and technical skills to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of fiber network services while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.
Essential Functions
Supervise and support a team of field engineers, superintendents, and contractors across multiple geographic regions.
Coordinate daily and weekly work assignments, ensuring resource allocation aligns with project priorities and timelines.
Conduct regular team meetings, training, and performance reviews.
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to company safety standards.
Ensure projects are executed on time, within budget, and in compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
Collaborate with the design, permitting, and construction teams to resolve field issues and keep projects on track.
Participate in field site surveys, audits, and inspections as needed.
Implement and enforce standardized field engineering processes across all regions.
Monitor the quality of fiber installations and troubleshoot performance issues.
Work closely with network planning, NOC, customer support, and executive leadership to align field operations with company goals.
Act as a liaison between the field team and central office for escalations, updates, and reporting.
Maintain and provide regular reports on project status, KPIs, and workforce productivity.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including permitting and environmental guidelines.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Strong understanding of FTTH technologies, OSP (Outside Plant) construction, and fiber testing procedures.
Experience managing teams across multiple locations.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ability to travel regularly across company service areas.
Other Requirements
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
5+ years of experience in telecommunications or fiber optic network deployment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Certifications such as FOA CFOT, OSHA 30, PMP, or equivalent.
Experience working with GIS, CAD, and fiber management software.
Compensation The salary for this position is $66,000 - $90,000. Base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
