The Axel Group is looking to add a REMOTE Senior Electrical Estimator to our client’s team out of Monmouth County, New Jersey. This award‑winning design‑build firm provides solutions to all heating, cooling, environmental, and control problems across industrial and commercial buildings. The Senior Electrical Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical construction projects. This role requires extensive knowledge of electrical systems, materials, labor, and industry standards. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and able to manage multiple estimates simultaneously while collaborating with project managers, engineers, and clients. While the position is REMOTE,
this individual must live within a commutable/drivable distance to the office for meetings as needed. Responsibilities
Analyze project drawings, specifications, and related documents to determine scope of work and required resources Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services Develop accurate bid proposals and budgets for commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical projects Identify value engineering opportunities and cost‑saving alternatives Conduct risk assessments and incorporate contingencies into estimates Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project requirements and resolve discrepancies Maintain current knowledge of industry pricing, labor rates, codes, and market conditions Lead bid reviews, presentations, and handoff meetings to ensure smooth project transitions Mentor junior estimators and provide technical guidance to the estimating team Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred) 7–10 years of experience in electrical estimating, with proven success on medium‑to‑large‑scale projects In‑depth knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and industry codes (NEC, NFPA) Proficiency in estimating software (Accubid, Bluebeam, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines under pressure Proven leadership skills and ability to mentor junior team members Benefits
