SENIOR TRANSPORTATION ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (SUPERVISOR) at Caltrans. Base pay range: $11,437.00 - $14,315.00. Location: San Bernardino County. Job Type: Permanent, Full Time. Telework: In Office. Job Description And Duties
Under the direction of a Supervising Transportation Engineer, the incumbent is in charge of and coordinates the work of a Construction Electrical Office by giving instruction and assistance, maintaining discipline, making decisions, and handling difficult technical and administrative problems in connection with staff assigned. The incumbent will be assigned work based on Divisional and/or Departmental needs. Project sites vary throughout San Bernardino/Riverside Counties and in various environments; travel is required. Responsibilities
Lead and supervise a Construction Electrical Office; provide instruction, guidance, and administrative leadership. Coordinate projects and staff to meet divisional/departmental needs. Travel to project sites as required. Qualifications
Possess a valid certificate of registration as an electrical engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a State owned or leased vehicle. Eligibility for hire may be determined by score on the SENIOR TRANSPORTATION ELECTRICAL ENGINEER exam; must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions. Minimum qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. Documentation may be required (unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification). Foreign transcripts/degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency using approved agencies. Knowledge and experience in the application and evaluation of electrical design, construction policies and procedures related to electrical assets on transportation infrastructure. Ability to analyze facts, data and situations; use problem-solving techniques; develop new ideas; recommend improvements; and engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
