SENIOR TRANSPORTATION ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (SPECIALIST) at Caltrans District 3. Final Filing Date: 10/22/2025. Salary: $11,437.00 – $14,315.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable. The position may be eligible for telework. Location: Sacramento, CA with field and office duties; travel to field locations is required as needed. Job Description and Duties

Under the supervision of the Chief of the Office of Specialty Investigations at Structure Maintenance and Investigations (SM&I), the incumbent plans, prepares, performs, reports on, oversees and directs safety inspections and evaluations of in-service highway tunnels, focusing on electrical and electronic systems and components, in accordance with NTIS (23 CFR Part 650 Subpart E). The incumbent may also plan, prepare, perform, report on, oversee and direct safety inspections and evaluations of in-service highway movable bridges, focusing on electrical and electronic systems and components, in accordance with NBIS (23 CFR Part 650 Subpart C). Minimum Requirements

Minimum requirements are detailed in the Class Specification. For eligibility, refer to the Caltrans exam process and related documentation. A valid Professional Engineer (Electrical) license issued by the California Board for Professional Engineers is required for appointment. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state-owned or leased vehicle. Qualifications and Application Materials
