Overview
Position Summary: The Loan Production Specialist is responsible for assisting the Loan Officer(s) (LO) to ensure a smooth loan origination process and to assist in the retention of existing customers and in the development of new business opportunities, including but not limited to any and all loan processing duties assigned from start-to-finish to post-close. The Loan Production Specialist works in conjunction with the Lenders, Secondary Market, Processing and the Closing departments to ensure the loan closes on time. With the knowledge communicated from the Lenders, the Loan Production Specialist communicates with the borrower on items needed to get a loan approval or a clear to close. The position also focuses on any and all loan servicing efforts. In addition, the position supports the Senior Lender and President & CEO with administrative tasks, appointment scheduling, Board Meetings, Committee meetings, etc. to ensure the company goals and objectives are accomplished and operations run efficiently. Responsibilities Coordinate with the LOs on all communication efforts. Assist in gathering financial information from the borrower, verify accuracy, input data into the loan processing system, and order credit checks including OFAC investigation. Confirm the Loan Estimate has been sent to the borrower within 3 days of loan application or required disclosures have been received. Perform loan processing duties, including ordering appraisal, preparing the loan for conditional approval, obtaining remaining loan conditions for the clear to close, and providing closing set-up support. Monitor the loan pipeline of assigned LOs and assist borrowers, LOs, and Operations Department during or after the loan process. Provide high level administrative support and act as a resource for Lenders, as well as the President & CEO. Escrow lead in all areas/dutiesassist LOs, support the Shared Services team assigned to escrow, and address customer needs across escrow features and processes. Assist in items after loan closing or in servicing efforts, including loan-set-up, loan maintenance, post-close items, payoff items, collection efforts (including past-due calls and letters), builder approval processes, large borrower tracking, annual approved attorneys and appraisers processes, loan transactions (withdrawals/draws, deposits, escrow payments/disbursements), and other loan payments/transactions; assist in servicing projects and audit support. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with all materials and exercise discretion when interfacing with the business. Provide administrative assistance, such as writing and editing emails, drafting memos, and preparing communications on behalf of LOs and Executives. Manage service providers and vendors (builders, inspectors, appraisers/AMCs, attorneys/title companies, credit reporting and flood vendors) and structure relationships strategically. Manage all lending information flow in a timely and accurate manner. Take minutes during meetings. Remain current on lending regulations and BGF policies and procedures, including changes in legal, regulatory, economic, competitive, and technology environments affecting lending and general banking. Other duties as required.
Requirements
Necessary competencies: resilience, perseverance, initiative, confidentiality, communication, service orientation, detail orientation, workflow/organizational skills, integrity, and strong technical expertise. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong time-management and ability to coordinate multiple projects. Experience with lending regulations, laws, guidelines, and requirements (including RESPA, Regulation Z) and loan documentation is preferred. Experience with loan processing/lending systems and originations/processing of loans is preferred; mortgage lending and escrow experience is preferred. Experience in finance or banking industry is required. Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software; experience with LaserPro, Encompass, OnBase, Nautilus, a banking core system, Photoshop and/or InDesign preferred. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Experience developing internal processes and filing systems. 2 years of experience processing loans (mortgage loans preferred). No supervisory experience required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, walk, stand, sit, bend, reach with hands and arms, climb, push/pull, use hands, and see, hear and speak. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
