Day Camp Site Supervisor
is to provide a safe, supportive environment for staff and campers to grow and thrive. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Impact the lives of campers and staff daily through leadership and example. Inspire youth development staff with programs and actions. Manage daily camp operations in collaboration with branch leadership. Represent the camp within the community as the face and voice of the program. Support youth development counselors with guidance, recognition, and encouragement. Cultivate friendships and foster a sense of belonging among staff and campers. Model exemplary behavior and promote healthy eating and physical activity. Plan and implement culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate activities aligned with YMCA values. Be flexible and willing to participate in camp activities, including dressing up and singing. Ensure a safe, nurturing environment and attend to campers' needs at all times. Supervise groups of 6–12 children as needed. Attend staff meetings and trainings. Perform housekeeping and other duties as assigned. Follow YMCA policies on medical situations, behavior management, child abuse prevention, and emergencies. REQUIREMENTS: At least 21 years of age. Experience working with youth preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Meet state licensing requirements, including DHS clearance, TB test, CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Safe certifications within specified timeframes. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to walk, stand, sit on the floor, and participate in physical activities for extended periods, often outdoors.
