The Scale Operator is the first point of contact with the customer. The position requires accurately entering materials and weights into the scale system computer, observing loads entering the facility and recording load grades as needed, calculating payments and enforcing safety rules and PPE requirements with the customers. Communicate with all customers coming on site, answering questions and directing them where to dispose of the materials Accurately enter the weight and classification of all materials entering and leaving the site Ensure all customers have proper PPE Inform supervisor of all customer problems or concerns immediately Keep scale house clean and orderly Complete all administrative tasks including daily reports, ticket filing and any other required tasks Communicate with operators via radio to provide and receive information regarding materials entering and leaving the facility Process credit card entries Perform any other duties as needed by site supervisor or manager Shift : Monday- Friday 8:30am - 6pm some Saturdays Bilingual : Spanish Qualifications / Knowledge / Critical Skills
Strong customer service skills are required Ability to multi-task Must be a self-starter Strong level of accountability Detail oriented Upbeat and energized to complete tasks with a positive attitude Must work well under pressure Learn and practice all safety procedures as safety is our highest value Bilingual a plus Physical Demands / Environmental Factors
Regularly sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear Occasionally stand and walk Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus Sporadic local travel required Seniority level
