Req#: 23-002036-0004 GRADE: ASTD10 LOCATION OF POSITION: 10102 Country Club Road, Cumberland, MD 21502 Main Purpose of Job: The Refrigeration Mechanic is a full-performance level of work in installing, repairing, and maintaining commercial/industrial refrigeration equipment. POSITION DUTIES
Operate air conditioning equipment along with other heating and ventilating equipment to assure proper temperature levels. Monitor pneumatic temperature equipment to ensure it operates within standards. Check and repair refrigerators and ice machines to maintain safe food storage and storage of medications. Assist outside contractors in servicing ventilation and air conditioning equipment. Keep records of materials and repairs to maintain servicing records of equipment. Change filters and oils equipment at regular intervals to assure long life of equipment. Complete any other maintenance work orders as needed and assist other maintenance staff with work orders to assure proper operation of the center. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: None required. Experience: Four years of experience installing, repairing, and maintaining commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems and equipment at commercial or residential buildings or other facilities. Notes: Candidates may substitute graduation from an accredited vocational/technical high school with a concentration in refrigeration and air conditioning for three years of the required experience. Candidates may also substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in relevant classifications for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Refrigeration Mechanic. LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees may be required to possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license in the State of Maryland. Employees may need to possess technician certification from an approved EPA certifying organization as required by section 608 of the Clean Air Act. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
