We are seeking a knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and driven Principal Transmission Planning Engineer to join the Grid Integration and Planning team. This role is central to supporting competitive transmission projects, conducting transmission analyses, and managing interconnection processes in regional markets. You will play a key role in shaping strategic initiatives by providing technical expertise, actionable insights, and leadership across projects, while collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners. Responsibilities

Perform, lead, or facilitate engineering and transmission assessments and analyses Support production cost modeling, economic evaluations, and regional market studies to identify opportunities and solutions Apply innovative simulation and analysis techniques to support new initiatives Lead technical analyses to evaluate and enable project partnerships Prepare and present reports, executive summaries, and investment committee materials Support siting, permitting, and licensing requirements, including hearings if needed Represent organizational interests at national, regional, and local levels as appropriate Oversee consultants, engineers, and subject matter experts as needed Collaborate within a project team and across multiple business functions Qualifications

Required Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field (power systems focus preferred) Strong professional experience in transmission system analysis Ability to translate complex model outputs into business insights and communicate impacts clearly Broad knowledge of U.S. power industry standards, regulations, and market fundamentals Strong data analysis skills, including handling large datasets to forecast, identify trends, and test sensitivities Excellent communication and presentation skills with proven ability to influence and build credibility Computational literacy with demonstrated ability to build tools and processes to support best practices Preferred Familiarity with emerging technologies such as offshore wind, renewable generation, energy storage, and conventional generation Experience in project development, including business case creation, data analysis, estimating, and work structure planning Understanding of electric transmission facility components, risks, and opportunities Work Environment

Hybrid role with office locations in MA or NY Collaborative, cross-functional project team environment Opportunities to engage with stakeholders at multiple levels
