Associate’s degree in Quality, Engineering, or a related technical field (Bachelor’s preferred) 5+ years of experience supervising quality teams in a manufacturing setting In-depth knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, inspection equipment, and quality assurance systems Background in machining processes, heat treatment, cutting tools, and metallurgical testing Strong understanding of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards and their application Skilled in SPC, MSA, capability studies, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving (e.g., 5-Why, Fishbone) Experience conducting internal and external audits Familiarity with lean manufacturing and error-proofing concepts Demonstrated leadership skills—ability to coach, motivate, and support quality teams across shifts Willingness to engage in hands-on support and equipment operation when needed What You Will Do
Provide daily leadership and coaching to a team of Quality Technicians and Specialists across multiple shifts Oversee inspection, testing, and auditing operations to maintain compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and customer-specific requirements Lead structured problem-solving activities to identify root causes and implement long-term corrective actions Drive the successful execution of layered process audits (LPA) and ensure timely resolution of findings Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and maintenance to resolve process abnormalities and ensure consistent product quality Identify team training needs and implement skill development programs Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as Kaizen events, to reduce scrap, enhance tool life, and improve overall quality outcomes Support readiness for new product launches associated with the $50M plant expansion—including control plan development, capability studies, and customer quality reviews Analyze key quality metrics and prepare regular performance reports for senior leadership Serve as a liaison with both suppliers and customers to address external quality issues and ensure satisfaction Uphold a culture of safety, compliance, and operational excellence throughout all quality-related activities Why You Should Join JTEKT Piedmont
