Assist the Front Office Manager in daily operations to achieve customer satisfaction and quality service while meeting guest service goals. Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Assist in supervising the front desk function. Ensure staff are properly trained including service expectations, hotel facilities, local directions, property management and reservation systems, safety, and emergency procedures. Monitor performance and recommend corrective or disciplinary action and alert management of potentially serious issues. Complete opening and closing shift duties and communicate outstanding guest requests or issues to management. Perform other duties as assigned which may include guest room tours, concierge services, bell assist, and special guest requests. Assist the Front Office Manager on system training and execute all front office procedures. Routinely check in/check out guests, answer phones, make reservations, and assist staff with job functions. Respond appropriately to guest complaints. Make appropriate service recovery gestures in accordance with established guidelines. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Assist Front Office Managers in execution of duties as requested or needed. Perform duties of Guest Service Agent and Telephone Operator in a friendly and courteous manner to ensure guest satisfaction. Overnight shifts may be required. SUPERVISORY DUTIES
Assist the Front Desk Manager with managing the Front Desk Agents. Job Qualifications
2+ years of Front Office/Guest Relations experience including supervisory training/experience in a hotel required. Extensive knowledge of Hilton Honors and/or IHG Programs preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age or older. High School Diploma/GED – preferred but not mandatory. Thorough organization and time management skills to complete tasks efficiently and timely. Ability to multi-task and work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment. Ability to effectively deal with guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information and resolve conflicts. Basic mathematical skills and considerable skill in the use of a calculator to prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations without error. Ability to listen effectively and to speak English clearly to communicate with customers and employees and prepare written complex reports of room availability and revenues generated. Accurately process all cash and credit card transactions in accordance with established procedures including but not limited to posting all charges, completing cashier or other reports, preparing deposit, and counting/securing assigned bank. Able to perform all essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation. Physical Environment
Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations and to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system. Ability to lift and transport luggage weighing up to 35 lbs. Ability to analyze information and make effective judgments. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
