Systems Safety Engineer
to support our Prime contract at the Air Force Research Laboratory. We are looking for someone with a desire to support cutting-edge research in the build-up of test facilities. The successful candidate will be part of a team that supports our Test areas by performing planning analysis, reviewing processes to eliminate hazards, and ensuring systems are designed and function without failure.
Responsibilities
Engage with Test Area Leadership and Safety Leadership to perform hazard identification and identify all potential hazards within the system being designed.
Perform hazard analysis on identified hazards to understand their causes and potential consequences.
Review all test components for compatibility with the overall test requirements and ensure a proper inspection schedule is put in place and followed.
Perform risk assessment by evaluating the likelihood and severity of potential hazards.
Provide risk mitigation to eliminate or reduce identified risks.
Experience performing system safety in industrial environments.
Attend test program concept briefs and offer requirements to assist the test program start their build-up in compliance with safety, environmental and quality standards.
Manage a portfolio of test projects and ensure the project meets safety and quality requirements.
Build FMEAs for each test site supported.
Evaluate test program standard operating procedures and test operations procedures; resolve safety issues and coordinate with the quality assurance manager to analyze safety requirements.
Participate in safety reviews and recommend modifications to existing designs to ensure compliance with organizational requirements and administer all human safety considerations.
Participate in all test activities, evaluate system engineering documents, and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
Qualifications
5-7 years of experience
BS Degree
Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance
