Planning and Scheduling: Make a thorough study of the project to be performed. Discuss plans, schedules, and details with your Division Personnel and Management team. Assess needs including personnel, equipment, materials, and feasible time frames. Determine the best course of action and continue planning throughout the project for possible improvements. As part of the planning phase, responsibilities include: Field Office Site Plan, Trailers, Permits and Fees, Establishing Utilities, Employee Parking, Temp. Roads, Lay Down Areas, Tool Cribs, Insurance & Bonds, Safety & First Aid. Project Coordination: Act as the Company’s top representative at the project. Attend progress meetings with Owner/Engineer and ensure timely submission of required documents. Conduct internal scheduling meetings with Superintendents, Foremen, and Subcontractors to coordinate work areas, labor, equipment, material and survey needs. Conduct Pre-Activity Meetings prior to significant items of work to discuss responsibilities, means & methods, MOT requirements, safety, quality control, etc. Personnel Selection: Coordinate staffing needs with the Human Resources Department. Ensure policy enforcement as the head of the field office. Supervise the Project Engineer and other engineering staff; coordinate with the Project Engineer on hiring outside Specialty Engineers when needed; mentor junior engineers on the project. Contract Documents: Familiarize yourself with contract, specifications, plans, addenda, revisions, special provisions, permits, utility relocation schedules, etc. Understand requirements for each item of work and how payment is achieved. Be aware of situations that require extra pay or potential claims. Cost Control: Manage the project budget, discuss variances with the Estimator, understand pay item estimates, and communicate with supervisors. Ensure cost-effectiveness and implement changes to avoid unplanned cost increases. Ensure change orders and/or claims are documented and submitted timely. Review and approve invoices, subcontractor payments, and timesheets; provide monthly cost reports reflecting field performance. Subcontractor/Vendor Management: Negotiate with subcontractors and vendors; ensure timely payment per subcontract terms; manage claims, change orders, and disputes. Documentation: Ensure project team members submit required documentation (daily reports, accident reports, T&M sheets, etc.). Maintain a detailed daily diary; ensure project photos and meeting minutes are filed. Notify client if project records are inaccurate or incomplete. Public Relations: Represent the project professionally; conduct yourself with integrity and courtesy in dealings with peers and the business community. Safety: Ensure compliance with company and OSHA safety regulations. Coordinate with the Safety Manager to maintain safety standards on site. Leadership: This is a top project-level management position requiring leadership, common sense, loyalty, and teamwork. Follow all MasTec Civil procedures and policies. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management Minimum five years of experience in heavy construction, with bridge, roadwork, and DOT experience PMP Certification preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Understanding of construction means and methods in heavy construction Strong team leadership and project management skills Experience leading multi-disciplined teams Ability to direct subcontractors to achieve project goals Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook; basic project scheduling (P6 or similar) Ability to maintain onsite project documentation; schedule and coordinate all site work Well-organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking across multiple sites Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to interact with people at all levels to ensure high-quality communication Highly motivated, driven, and results-oriented in a fast-paced environment What7s In It For You
