Who We Need Abilities First is seeking a Physical Therapist for our Educational Learning Experience Program located in New Windsor NY. Positions are 48 weeks per year on a School Calendar which includes a 6 week summer program. Benefits include On-demand payment: get Paid for hours worked next day, paid holidays, school vacations, sick, personal and snow days. We offer continuing education, health, dental and vision.
Schedule:
This position follows the school calendar, Monday-Friday, 8:30am to 3:30 pm; 32.5 hours per week with a 6 week summer program.
Pay Range $84,000-$92,400 annually with Master's degree $100,800-$109,200 with Ph.D. Credit given for experience including ATP, NDT & SI Certification.
Responsibilities
Evaluates students on assigned caseload and determines appropriate program goals (both long and short term).
Evaluates new referrals to determine need for service/appropriate level of service.
Provides direct treatment to students on assigned caseload.
Schedules students in conjunction with classroom staff and related services.
Submits all documentation in accordance with policies and deadlines.
Reassesses student progress and adjusts goals as necessary.
Assesses equipment needs and collaborates with staff for fabrication and adaptation.
Communicates with parents, staff, and related personnel regarding student progress.
Instructs caregivers and staff on treatment techniques and carryover activities.
Participates in meetings, conferences, and reviews as needed.
Supervises and trains Physical Therapy Assistants and students as assigned.
Attends CSE reviews to provide input on therapy needs.
Maintains treatment sites and provides in-service training.
Adheres to professional standards, ethical guidelines, and agency policies.
Incorporates person-centered care principles and responds to individual concerns.

Requirements
Masters Degree or PhD in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
Licensed with N.Y.S. Department of Education.
Acceptable driver’s license.
Handle with Care, CPR, SFA, and Med Certification preferred but obtainable.
Background check by NYS OPWDD required.
Lifting and maneuvering of individuals required.
