Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Operating Room RN for a 13-week travel assignment in LaMesa, California. The RN will provide perioperative patient care, prepare the operating room, manage surgical equipment, and collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. Prepare the operating room by ensuring all required instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready and functional for each surgical procedure Assist in positioning and preparing patients for surgery, addressing concerns and ensuring comfort and safety according to procedural requirements Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures and adhere to infection control protocols and sterile technique Anticipate the needs of the surgical team, providing instruments, supplies, and support promptly to maintain efficient workflow Monitor the patients condition during surgery, document significant changes and notify the surgeon Handle surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring proper use, sterilization, and disposal according to facility protocols Manage specimen collection, labeling, and transport according to facility protocols Document all aspects of patient care in the perioperative setting accurately and thoroughly Participate in patient handoff communication during pre- and post-operative phases Assist in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases, adhering to infection control and turnover protocols Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and standards Follow hospital safety rules and procedures, including proper use of PPE and infection prevention measures Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice Required Qualifications
One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications
ACLS (AHA/ARC), PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certifications OR Nursing Certification (CNOR) Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Required Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills Ability to read/write/communicate in English Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; proficiency in PC skills Physical abilities to remain stationary, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend Interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of personnel Technical/motor skills for procedures and department equipment Mental requirements to handle deadlines under pressure and manage irregular schedules Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication Benefits
