Role Responsibilities

Applying ionizing radiation according to MD's prescription (3D, IMRT, SBRT, SRS, HDR)

Patient scheduling and appointments

Performing dose calculations

Treatment data entry

Collaborating with physicians, physicists, and dosimetrists to perform simulations and treatment planning CTs

Note: May be hired as Radiation Therapist if you possess less than 5 years of experience.

Salary Range Senior Radiation Therapist: $66.04 - $87.12 Hourly

Radiation Therapist: $61.60 - $81.28 Hourly

Qualifications Required:

ARRT License

CRT License

5 or more years radiation therapy experience

BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Experience with treatment machines such as MR Scanner, CT Scanner, HDR units, and Linear Accelerators; ability to recognize hazardous conditions

Experience with Truebeam, Tomotherapy, Novalis, CT, and MR-guided RT

Ability to lift cerrobend blocks weighing up to 35 pounds

Knowledge of basic physics relevant to Radiation Therapy

Proficiency with electronic calculators for dose calculations

Ability to communicate technical aspects of Radiation Therapy clearly to patients

Skill in recognizing and reporting adverse patient reactions

Knowledge of thermo-luminescent dosimeters principles and applications

Ability to interpret medical documents and implement computer-generated physics treatment plans

Knowledge of basic nursing procedures

Understanding of procedures for isolating immuno-suppressed patients

Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians and physicists

Preferred:

Experience with Aria and Epic systems
