In this role, you will work under the general supervisor of the Chief Radiation Therapy Technologist and your functions will include:

Applying ionizing radiation according to MD's prescription (3D,IMRT,SBRT,SRS,HDR)

Patient scheduling and appointments

Performing dose calculations

Working with physicians, physicists and dosimetrists to perform simulations and treatment planning CT's

This position will be working in both Westwood and Santa Monica locations, as well as other future sites as assigned.

*May be hired as Radiation Therapist if less than 5 years of experience.

Salary for Senior Radiation Therapist: $69.34 - $91.48 hourly

Salary for Radiation Therapist: $64.68 - $85.34 Hourly

Job Qualifications Required:

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification

California State License in Radiation Therapy

BLS/CPR from American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Skill in working with different types of treatment machines such as MR Scanner, CT Scanner, HDR units and Linear Accelerators and ability to recognize when hazardous conditions may exist.

Ability to work as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues.

Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and their relatives in a high volume, continuous public contact setting.

Skill in organizing and coordinating material, patients, and information in a systematic way to optimize efficiency and minimize duplication of effort.

Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are changes in workload, machine breakdowns, heavy patient volume and emergency cases.

Knowledge of basic physics as applicable to Radiation Therapy.

Skill in communicating various technical aspects of Radiation Therapy at a level understood by patients.

Skill in recognizing and reporting any adverse patient therapy reactions.

Skill in reading documents written with medical terminology and ability to read and implement computer-generated physics treatment plans.

Working knowledge of University procedures regarding isolation of immuno-suppressed patients.

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with physicians and physicists.

Preferred:

5 or more years radiation therapy experience
