Clinical Nurse B-CH (SSN) FIT - Full-Time, Night Shift The Clinical Nurse B-CH (SSN) Flexible Integrated Team (FIT) is part of Loma Linda University Shared Services (LLUSS) supplemental staffing. The FIT nurse functions out of a home department and is reassigned to a Loma Linda University Children\'s Hospital patient care department where additional staffing is needed to cover sick calls, vacations, federal and state legislative leaves or vacancies. Exhibits flexibility and readily accepts assignments where needed. Utilizes discretion and independent judgment to prioritize, coordinate, provide and document direct and indirect age-specific and developmentally appropriate quality patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. Performs the nursing process (assessment, care planning, intervention, evaluation) with minimal supervision and in accordance with established Professional Practice Model (Duffy\'s Quality Caring Theory) to achieve proficient individualized physical, psychosocial and spiritual wellness and provide compassionate bereavement support as appropriate. Functions in a skills mix environment and delegates tasks to unlicensed staff in accordance with scope of practice. Applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice and exhibits self-motivation to continually expand knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in area of specialty. Meets qualifications, licensure, certifications, competencies and staffing requirements as defined by SSN guidelines. Exhibits refined interpersonal skills that portray professionalism and maximize excellence in customer service and safe patient care. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Performs other duties as needed. Responsibilities

Delegate tasks to unlicensed staff in accordance with scope of practice within a skills-milo environment. Apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expand knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in area of specialty. Meet SSN qualifications, licensure, certifications, competencies and staffing requirements; maintain professional behavior and safe patient care. Contribute to a caring, cooperative work environment across a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Perform other duties as needed. Education and Experience

Associate Degree or Diploma Degree in Nursing required. Minimum of one year of experience required. The CN-B is eligible to be promoted into the CN-C classification when criteria outlined in the Clinical Nurse Ladder handbook and CN-C job description are met. Completion of Basic Arrhythmia Recognition and Treatment course or equivalent required within six months of hire. Knowledge and Skills

Demonstrates basic competencies in clinical nursing and applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice; continually expands knowledge base with a focus in area of specialty and population served. Basic knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation; professional behavior under pressure. Ability to speak, read and write English (Spanish preferred) with professional quality; proficiency with computer, printer and software programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, EMR, electronic event reporting). troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment; perform technical patient care activities; communicate positively and professionally; lead, supervise, teach and collaborate; accept direction; think critically; work independently with minimal supervision. Manage multiple assignments, organize and prioritize workload, problem solve; recall information accurately; pay attention to detail. Visual, auditory and tactile abilities as necessary for patient care (color discernment, smell, temperature variation, hearing, and seeing computer screens and documents). Licensures and Certifications

Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required.
