Overview
Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) - Plastic Surgery at Bedford County Hospital, affiliated with Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). This role involves delivering ambulatory and acute care, including management of surgical patients from pre-operative to post-operative phases, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities
Obtain and document health history; perform and document complete, system-focused, or symptom-specific physical examinations, assessment and plan of care. Collaborate to provide primary, acute and complex care; manage patient care and identify expected outcomes for diagnoses. Order, perform, interpret, and collect data using appropriate assessment techniques and diagnostic procedures when indicated. Form differential diagnoses and treat acute and chronic conditions. Prescribe therapeutic interventions (pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic, and surgical) to achieve outcomes. Utilize evidence-based, approved practice protocols in planning and implementing care. Initiate appropriate referrals and consultations; provide specialty-specific consultation services within scope of practice. Facilitate patient transitions between and within health care settings (admitting, transferring, discharging). Position Location
This position will be 100% at Bedford County Hospital. Qualifications
At least 2 years of surgical experience (preferred). Injectable experience. Licensure as Physician Assistant (Tennessee) or eligible; Certification as a Physician Assistant required. Position Qualifications
Licensure/Certification: Licensed Physician Assistant (Tennessee) or equivalent; Board certification in the specialty as applicable. Education: Master’s degree in Nursing (NP) or Physician Assistant studies. Experience: Relevant clinical experience as indicated (less than 1 year to experienced level as specified).
