Our CVICU specializes in adult cardiac care, including general cardiology, cardiac surgery, thoracic, transplant, and vascular patients. The NP/PA provides care in critical care settings (surgical and medical ICUs) as part of a multidisciplinary team. Candidates should have didactic education, clinical competency, and national certification in their scope of practice. Responsibilities
Obtain and document health history; perform and document complete, system-focused, or symptom-specific physical examinations, assessments, and plans of care. Collaborate to provide healthcare services for primary, acute, and complex care; identify expected outcomes for diagnoses. Order, perform, interpret, and collect data using appropriate assessment techniques and diagnostic procedures. Form differential diagnoses and treat acute and chronic conditions. Prescribe therapeutic interventions (pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic, and surgical) to achieve outcomes. Utilize evidence-based practice protocols in planning and implementing care. Initiate referrals and consultations; provide specialty-specific consultation as needed within scope of practice. Facilitate patient transitions between care settings (admitting, transferring, discharging). Qualifications
Licensure: Licensed Nurse Practitioner (TN) or Physician Assistant with appropriate national certification. Education: Master’s degree required. Experience: Prior CVICU experience or ICU experience preferred. Certification: AGACNP/ACNP (NP) or PA with critical care experience. Position Type: Full-Time Night Shift; three 13-hour shifts per week. Position Details
