provides a range of services for children and families and is a leading center for children’s mental health. This role supports preschool through early elementary students within a day treatment program in the Minneapolis area. Overview

Washburn Center for Children is a long‑standing nonprofit supporting children’s mental health with programs that include in-home services and school-based initiatives. The Day Treatment program serves children in pre-school through second grade in the Minneapolis School District, focusing on self-regulation, pro-social skills, and adaptive relationship-based supports. Role Responsibilities

Group Therapy – provide group therapy, including: Conduct Diagnostic Assessments as needed Develop and implement an individualized treatment plan based on the diagnosis Collaborate with co-therapists to lead scheduled group services Plan and implement therapeutic activities aligned with the child’s treatment goals and developmental needs Lead a group environment that emphasizes consistency, respectful communication, safety, predictability, clear limits, and encouragement Intervene safely to maintain physical and emotional safety and employ therapeutic approaches to prevent harmful behavior Apply Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) techniques, including verbal de‑escalation and therapeutic holds Care coordination with psychiatrists and other professionals Collaborate with co-therapists, program supervisors, and supports to maintain enrollment and attendance in group settings Create a discharge plan Provide fill-in support for group settings as needed Individual Therapy – provide individual therapy to clients, including: Conduct Diagnostic Assessments as needed upon enrollment and with referrals Develop and implement an individualized treatment plan based on the diagnosis Care coordination with psychiatrists and other professionals Provide individual skills services in home, school, and community settings based on treatment plan objectives Create a discharge plan Family Therapy – provide family therapy, including: Conduct Diagnostic Assessments as needed Develop and implement an individualized treatment plan based on the diagnosis Care coordination with psychiatrists and other professionals Provide or conduct family therapy and/or skills in the home based on treatment plan objectives Create a discharge plan Documentation – maintain required documentation per the Clinical Policy Manual, including: Diagnostic assessments Treatment plans for each client Daily progress notes Documentation of interventions used in group therapy Complete CASIIs/ECSIIs and collaborate with parents to complete SDQ or other instruments at intake Discharge summaries, satisfaction surveys Timely responses to program communications All clinicians are to ensure Minnesota and HIPAA data privacy requirements are followed. Role Requirements

Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or another human service field Maintenance or pursuit of independent licensure (LICSW, LP, LPCC, or LMFT strongly preferred) If the candidate has a Master’s in Social Work, valid licensure as an LGSW is required upon starting 1–2 years of experience with severely emotionally disturbed children and families and leading therapeutic groups; 3–5 years preferred DC: 0–5 training desired Demonstrated flexibility, resourcefulness, and cultural responsiveness when working with diverse populations Knowledge and application of trauma‑informed practice; experience with trauma‑affected children Vehicle in operating condition, valid driver’s license, and car insurance Salary bracket: $60,000 - $75,000 (salary based on licensure status, experience, and education).
