Medical Travel Specialist

Location: Pierre, SD

Salary:
$18.90
hourly, depending on qualifications
Pay Grade: E

This is a Full-Time 40 Hours Weekly position with the Department of Social Services - Division of Finance. For more information, please visit the agency website.
Responsibilities
Assist Non-Emergency Medicaid Travel (NEMT) providers and recipients with their travel claims.
Respond to emails and calls from providers and recipients to identify and resolve issues related to submitted claims and processing claims and billings for payment.
Ideal Candidate & Qualifications
High school education or GED.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Claims processing practices and procedures (preferred but not required).
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Skills:
Math skills sufficient to perform basic arithmetic and calculate percentages using a calculator.
Proficient keyboarding skills (typing and 10-key).
Abilities:
Demonstrate customer service, compassion, respect, courtesy and tact when interacting with others.
Understand and apply written instructions.
Communicate information clearly and concisely.
Compare information and recognize discrepancies.
Utilize computerized data systems.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Additional Information
This position is eligible for Veterans’ Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
