Responsibilities
Act as a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice.
Effectively delegate, direct and assist licensed and ancillary team members; assume accountability for quality patient outcomes.
Demonstrate cultural, ethnic and religious sensitivity in all interactions; participate in activities aimed toward achieving unit and department goals.
Maintain professional responsibility and accountability for own practice and support the company\'s philosophy of nursing.
Perform essential duties satisfactorily and comply with reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities.
Remain knowledgeable on current laws, accreditation standards and regulatory requirements applicable to the assigned area and ensure compliance.
Adhere to Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct; uphold patient and employee safety and privacy; report unethical or questionable behavior.
Qualifications
Education Required - Registered nurse diploma. Preferred - Associate\'s degree in nursing. Work Experience Required - None. Certifications Required - Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Preferred - Certification in clinical specialty area. Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to demonstrate good judgment and self-direction.
Good interpersonal skills.
Job Duties
Utilize the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for diverse patients, families and groups.
Communicate, delegate and manage nursing team resources; serve as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
Use data and knowledge to evaluate and promote changes for optimal outcomes.
Support customer satisfaction and employee morale; contribute to nursing profession improvements.
Adapt behavior to patient population needs, including privacy, introduction, explanation of services, permissions and communication style.
Performs other related duties as required.
