Overview Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory Supervisor

at Upstate Medical University. Functions as the Molecular Laboratory Supervisor whose primary function is to oversee all Molecular Laboratory operations including technical and administrative sections. This supervisor is responsible for the daily operation of the laboratory while ensuring a safe working environment and monitoring utilization of Universal Precautions by all staff. This supervisor will also look for opportunities to enhance staff professional development and maintain continuous improvement for patient care services.

Responsibilities

Oversee all Molecular Laboratory operations including technical and administrative sections.

Manage the daily operation of the laboratory, ensuring a safe working environment and monitoring Universal Precautions by all staff.

Identify opportunities to enhance staff professional development and maintain continuous improvement for patient care services.

Minimum Qualifications

NYS Licensed/eligible to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.

Masters degree in one of the chemical, physical, or biological sciences.

Two years of Clinical Laboratory experience to include 2 years of supervisory experience.

Alternatively, four years of Clinical Laboratory experience to include 2 years of supervisory experience.

Must be able to distinguish colors for the purposes of performing laboratory tests.

Preferred Qualifications

Four years experience in a Molecular Laboratory.

NYS LDT, molecular test validation and prior supervisor experience preferred.

Work Days

Mon-Fri 8:30-5:00
