Farm Production Manager
role at
Atlantic Fields Club . This role is located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Atlantic Fields, outside West Palm Beach, FL. Atlantic Fields is seeking a Production Manager to join the Club Operations Department. The Production Manager will support the operation of our 10-acre farm at Atlantic Fields, with responsibilities spanning daily farm operations, labor supervision and task management, and member engagement and education. The role includes integration of the farm program with culinary and wellness operations, as well as facilities and equipment maintenance. This is a physical, hands-on farming position that also requires some office duties and strong interpersonal skills for day-to-day interactions with visiting members and guests, farm tours, classes, outdoor dining experiences, and other farm events. You will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees. Key Responsibilities
Farm and Garden Management Partner with supporting departments for overall management and daily maintenance of plants, vegetables, fruits, and flowers including propagation, greenhouse operations, transplanting, pest and weed management, irrigation, harvesting, washing, and packing produce. Collaborate with supporting departments to improve soil health through composting, crop rotations, vermiculture, and other regenerative practices. Co-create and manage the crop plans and seeding schedule for all fruits and vegetables, with knowledge of local best practices for growing and timing of crop rotation. Care for farm animals (bees, chickens, ruminants) including providing food, water, shelter, outdoor access, and hygiene. Provide basic nursery care for perennial trees, shrubs, and vines. Schedule repairs, maintenance, and replacement of equipment and machinery. Maintain cleanliness and professional appearance of work area throughout the day. Operate and maintain garden tools and equipment, including tractors and tillage equipment. Ensure seeds, organic fertilizers, organic pesticides, and other supplies are regularly restocked. Monitor and record key metrics such as crop yields, daily harvest weights and volumes, animal health, weather, and pest management outcomes.
Member Involvement and Experience Showcase the farm areas to members, guests, and prospects by communicating offerings and benefits. Respond to member requests promptly and with care. Collaborate with supporting departments in event planning and educational activities. Instruct and participate in member activities at the farm, teaching and assisting in member and family events at the farm.
Farm and Garden Staff Management Supervise farm staff and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations. Coordinate daily farm team tasks and activities. Provide consulting services to other Discovery Land Company projects as requested.
Food and Beverage Collaboration Communicate harvesting schedules and anticipated yields to the Food and Beverage, Culinary, and Member Services departments. Collaborate to develop and ensure food safety protocols from field to packhouse to commissary. Monitor harvest weights and volumes, and share with the Executive Chef. Collaborate with the farm team and culinary team to create and execute new offerings, farm dinners, and activities. Stock and restock produce as needed throughout the day. Attend department meetings and trainings as necessary.
Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field. Minimum of four to five years of experience in farm management. Strong understanding of vegetable and fruit production, greenhouse and hydroponic systems, animal husbandry, edible landscaping, and organic and regenerative farming practices. Ability to operate farm equipment and machinery, including full-sized tractors. Valid driver’s license to operate vehicles. Basic diesel and gas engine mechanical knowledge. Experience in basic repairs and maintenance of outbuildings. Strong motivation for sustainability. Ability to follow oral and written directions in English. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff. Additional Requirements
Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members. Flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays; long hours may be required due to business demands. Ability to work in a team environment and stay calm during busy times. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred. Physical requirements: able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather, standing, walking, and moving for extended periods; able to lift and carry items sometimes greater than 50 pounds. Benefits
