EO/AA This position is the junior level position responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance, analyzing mechanical and electrical problems, and making adjustments, repairs, and replacements to ensure the continuous and safe functioning of all assigned equipment in the healthcare physical environment. This position functions under the guidance of a Maintenance Engineer II or above. This role does not involve providing care to patients. Responsibilities Operate, repair, overhaul, service, and maintain equipment in all areas of the healthcare physical environment. Perform regularly scheduled preventive maintenance based on manufacturer recommendations or required by code. Enter data into the established CMMS. Maintain clean equipment rooms and other areas, including AHU filter change-out. Maintain equipment performance and repair records. Complete fire extinguisher inspections. Participate in required after-hours on-call rotations. Assist in designing and implementing mechanical or electrical alterations to improve equipment efficiency, performance, and lifespan. Ensure all equipment and maintenance standards meet regulatory compliance requirements mandated by local, state, and federal agencies. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Proficiency in basic computer functions. Ability to read blueprints. Participation in after-hours on-call rotation. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently or in a group. Follow specific directions. Read, write, speak, and understand English. Qualifications (Required) At least 18 months of hands-on maintenance and repair experience in areas such as pipefitting, HVACR, steam systems, pneumatic and electronic building controls, plumbing, laundry equipment, sterilizing equipment, engines, generators, kitchen equipment, mechanical and electrical systems, carpentry, troubleshooting, concrete, welding, or fabrication. A valid State of Utah Driver's License may be required depending on the department of hire. Working Conditions and Physical Demands Requires physical work exerting up to 100 pounds, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and moving objects. May involve working near moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, scaffolding, high places, or exposure to chemicals. Physical Requirements Carrying, climbing, color determination, crawling, lifting, listening, manual dexterity, pulling, pushing, reaching, sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking.
