Production Supervisor

This description describes the responsibilities and qualifications for a Production Supervisor with Liberty Packaging, including leading and developing a production team, organizing workflow, and analyzing manufacturing processes to achieve safe production results aligned with customer expectations. Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day operations by leading teams within a production department, including overseeing production metrics, employee placement, providing direction, guiding teams through problem solving and production challenges. Ensure operational KPIs are met (safety, waste reduction, quality control, preventative maintenance, and housekeeping). Lead department or work center teams through observation-based safety programs, emphasizing hazard identification and proactive safety measures. Conduct regular safety huddles to communicate initiatives, coach safe practices, and recognize safety accomplishments and behaviors. Support site safety investigations by actively participating in resolving opportunities to maintain a safe work environment, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies. Oversee quality processes and audits to meet customer expectations, preventative maintenance to ensure machine reliability, and other continuous improvement processes. Ensure consistent adherence to established routines and performance standards by coaching and disciplining employees, conducting timely reviews, and maintaining accurate timekeeping records, while reinforcing our culture of Caring, Innovation, Trust, and Excellence. Manage efficient and effective labor use through scheduling and assessing/recommending appropriate use of overtime. Drive continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives by identifying, managing, and assisting with projects, monitoring goals, and facilitating teamwork to cultivate a culture focused on continuous improvement. Coach, mentor, ensure knowledge is shared across the team, deliver effective training, provide timely feedback, and identify/develop high-potential staff. Proactively escalate issues to facility leadership to anticipate challenges and minimize impact to our customers. Collaborate across business and manufacturing floor teams, demonstrating strong communication and cross-collaboration skills to ensure smooth operation and alignment across departments. Support LDI culture initiatives and promote engagement in Safety and Environmental meetings, Community involvement meetings, special projects, and assignments. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED and 5+ years manufacturing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3+ years’ supervisory, team lead, and/or project leadership experience. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and additional hours as required by business needs. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business/Operations Management, Engineering or related field). Strong communication skills; basic computer skills with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word; experience in Amtech, CTI. Strong process/business acumen; results-driven; demonstrated leadership skills; conflict management; relationship-building; attention to detail; problem solving and decision-making. Compensation & Benefits
The starting base salary range for this position is $66,700 - $83,360 per year. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay at the time of posting. Some positions may qualify for bonuses. Comprehensive benefits include health/dental/vision insurance, PTO, 10 paid holidays, 401(k) with company matching and discretionary profit sharing, flexible spending and health savings accounts, life and disability insurance, tuition assistance, wellness and mental health resources.
