Licensed Practical Nurse 4 (LPN4), Full-Time, Permanent Washington Corrections Center for Women (WCCW), Gig Harbor, WA Shift: 2:00PM-10:30PM with Monday/Tuesday off The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN4) for the Washington Corrections Center for Women (WCCW) located in Gig Harbor, Washington. The Washington Corrections Center for Women (WCCW) is a 62.6-acre facility located approximately two miles from Gig Harbor. The site includes living units, administration buildings, a health clinic, education buildings, a gymnasium, a chapel, industries buildings, food service buildings and support facilities. Correctional Health is a rewarding career path at DOC, in which health care professionals treat a wide array of cases for patients residing in a state correctional facility. Health Services is responsible for basic primary care for incarcerated individuals. All disciplines within all of the 12 correctional facilities work closely together to reach a common goal, providing the best, most efficient, and cost-effective health care possible. Emphasis is placed on early identification of health concerns, care for acute and chronic health problems, and preventive care. Under the direct or indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse, support the Department’s mission by assisting in the nursing process and delivering services to promote health, foster healing, and support coping and adjustment to various health conditions. Use tools, techniques, and skills to practice nursing safely and effectively in the correctional setting within the scope of practice defined by state law and administrative code. Delegate and assign tasks to other staff as appropriate. Self-evaluate and practice professional nursing conduct at all times. Provide effective communication and documentation. Administer medication. Provide competent patient care. Qualifications

Two years’ experience working as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Initial and continuous unencumbered licensure in the State of Washington as a Licensed Practical Nurse OR an unencumbered Multistate License from a participating Compact Licensure State as outlined by the Nurse Licensure Compact, with completion of Suicide Prevention, EDIR training, and MLS demographic survey. Training by the American Heart Association in Healthcare Provider CPR. Proficient using computer-based programs to schedule, monitor and track patient information, perform data entry and word processing, and communicate via email, as well as other programs that may be needed to complete assigned work. Preferred Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the CHEA. Core Values and Commitments
