for the Washington Corrections Center Shelton, WA. Compensation and Premiums

per hour for hours worked from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. $3.00
per hour for hours worked from Friday midnight to Sunday midnight. Washington Corrections Center is our transition center where individuals assigned to the Department of Corrections come for initial evaluation and are then sent to other facilities for their care needs. This is a busy facility with inpatient and outpatient clinics that see numerous patients for different health needs and concerns. Responsibilities
Practice nursing safely and effectively in the correctional setting within the scope of practice defined by state law and administrative code. Monitor and collect data about health status, clinical condition, or situation of individuals and report results to the Registered Nurse. Assist the Registered Nurse in developing nursing diagnoses and outcomes; contribute to the plan of nursing care and assist in prioritizing and sequencing care. Carry out the plan of care, determine when needs exceed LPN scope, obtain direction from the Registered Nurse, and accomplish prescribed interventions in a timely and clinically responsive manner. Assist in evaluating service delivery, revise the plan of care as necessary, and employ safety techniques for patient handling. Supervise and assign tasks to subordinate staff on the nursing team; delegate responsibilities after considering patient needs and potential risks. Teach, supervise, and evaluate the implementation of tasks and results of patient care; report delegated outcomes to the Registered Nurse or supervising provider. Be in attendance and competent to practice nursing as assigned; brief appropriate personnel before departing to ensure continuity of care. Provide effective communication and documentation of patient care. Communication and Documentation
Communicate verbally, in writing, and via electronic media with offenders, families, health care personnel, custody, and institutional staff. Legibly document subjective and objective findings and actions taken; protect confidentiality of health records; maintain complete patient care records. Coordinate health care for patients scheduled for community-based care and complete encounter forms; respond to information requests from offenders and staff. Medication Administration
As delegated by the Registered Nurse, oversee the medication administration area and patient care in that area. Participate in medication lines and administer medications as ordered; educate patients about medications and prepare release medications for transfers or release. Lead the clinical nurse role in the treatment room as delegated; participate in treatments, dressing changes, monitor vital signs, and assist with minor procedures within the scope of nursing practice. Evaluate and carry out licensed practitioners' orders and provide emergency medical care, including CPR. Required Qualifications
Two years of experience as an LPN or an unencumbered Multistate License from a participating Compact Licensure State as outlined by the Nurse Licensure Compact, with completion of Suicide Prevention, EDIR training, and MLS demographic survey. Current, unencumbered licensure as an LPN in the State of Washington. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification. Proficiency with computer-based programs to schedule, monitor, and track patient information, perform data entry, and communicate via email, and other required systems. Mission, Vision, and Values
