Licensed Practical Nurse 4 (LPN4) – Coyote Ridge Corrections Center (CRCC), Connell, WA. This recruitment is for the schedule: Monday–Friday 0600–1430. The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN4) for Coyote Ridge Corrections Center. Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses receive shift differentials of $2.50 per hour for evening and night shifts. Employees may qualify for one or both supplemental shift premiums in addition to the above. A. One dollar ($1.00) per hour for hours between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. B. Three dollars ($3.00) per hour for hours worked from Friday midnight to Sunday midnight. Coyote Ridge Corrections Center has a diverse population with chronic diseases and long-term and palliative care needs. Practice nursing safely and effectively in the correctional setting within the scope of practice defined by state law and administrative code so that patient care is safe, effective, efficient, and clinically appropriate. Monitor and collect data about health status, clinical condition, or situation of individuals, families, groups, and communities. Report results to the Registered Nurse. Assist the Registered Nurse in developing nursing diagnoses and outcomes to be achieved as a result of nursing intervention. Contribute to the development of the plan of nursing care, including identification of approaches, timeframes, and pathways for health care delivery. Prioritize and sequence care to ensure continuity over time and place. Carry out the plan of care by performing common therapeutic nursing interventions, informing others about urgency, time, and methods to deliver health care on and off site. Determine when needs exceed LPN scope or require other intervention; obtain direction from the Registered Nurse as needed. Assist in analysis and evaluation of the structure, process, timeframes, and outcomes of service delivery. Revise the plan of care as necessary to prevent complications or improve care. Employ safety techniques to push, pull, lift, and carry loads in accordance with policies. Provide effective communication and documentation. Communicate verbally, in writing, and via computer or other electronic media with offenders, families, health care personnel, custody, and institutional staff. Legibly document subjective and objective clinical findings and actions taken to deliver nursing care. Protect confidentiality of health records. Maintain accurate, legible, and complete records of patient care. Coordinate pertinent information to health care providers for patients scheduled for community-based care. Delegate and assign tasks to other staff as appropriate. Supervise and assign tasks to subordinate staff on the nursing team. Delegate patient care to other LPNs and assistive personnel after considering patient needs, condition, stability, potential for harm, task complexity, and predictability of outcomes. Teach, instruct, monitor, supervise, and evaluate delegated tasks and results. Supervise delegated nursing tasks and report outcomes to the Registered Nurse or supervising health care provider. Self-evaluate and practice professional nursing conduct at all times. Adept at practicing nursing as assigned and maintaining competence. Brief appropriate personnel before departing to ensure continuity of patient care. Required Qualifications: Initial and continuous unencumbered licensure in the State of Washington as a Licensed Practical Nurse. OR An unencumbered Multistate License from a participating Compact Licensure State and completion of the MLS demographic survey. AND Two years’ experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR training. Proficiency with computer-based programs to schedule, monitor, and track patient information, data entry, word processing, and email communications, and other required programs.
