Screen and interpret cytopathology samples, including fine needle aspirations, exfoliative non-gynecologic samples and gynecologic samples. Provide assistance to physicians during fine needle aspirations, including making direct smear preparations and performing an adequacy interpretation if necessary. Screen and interpret all cytopathologic samples excluding intraoperative touch imprint evaluation cases. Provide assistance to clinicians/pathologists with the collection of specimens, predominately FNA’s. Perform required computer functions relevant to the cytology department, such as accessioning and resulting. Perform cytologic-histologic correlation of all available cytology samples. The Ideal Candidate
Has a Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology. Has demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of a cytopathology department, including the collection, processing and interpretation of cytopathologic samples. Qualifications
Florida state license in Cytology required. ASCP certification preferred. 3 years previous cytology experience preferred. Seniority level
