Lutheran Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a 10-bed unit that provides RN-based care for medical and surgical patients with complex conditions requiring intensive medical and supportive treatment, including telemetry monitoring for specific diagnoses such as new arrhythmias. The ICU team includes Critical Care Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and operates within a highly engaged work environment where caregivers actively participate in shared governance and community outreach. As an RN, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare education as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills. This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working various shifts between 7:00 a.m. -- 7:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with weekend and holiday requirements. Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care. Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. Qualifications
Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include: Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN) Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) Two years of recent related nursing experience for external applicants OR less than two years of experience, but post-orientation/90-day probationary period considered with the Chief Nursing Officer approval for internal applicants OR military RN experience Preferred qualifications for the ideal caregiver include: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. Personal Protective Equipment
