Lutheran Hospital’s 4D unit is a Complex Medical Care and Telemetry unit known for its collaborative environment, focus on nursing education, and patient care initiatives. You will care for adult patients with a variety of diagnoses and deliver world-class care for the medical needs of Lutheran Hospital's behavioral health patients. As an Assistant Nurse Manager on this unit, you will assist fellow RNs, physicians and medical staff in providing the best possible healthcare experience. Your work will focus on evaluating patient conditions, improving unit policies, managing caregiver schedules, and welcoming new nurses to the team. A caregiver in this role works an evening/night rotation from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. Responsibilities
Support the Nurse Manager with supervising and supporting RNs and other nursing support caregivers. Supervise admissions, assess patient needs, and initiate nursing care plans. Evaluate and document patient progress. Facilitate planning, implementation, development, and evaluation of nursing programs, initiatives and objectives for the unit. Assist with developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in the unit. Serve as a liaison between the manager, caregivers and other areas within the organization. Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in the unit. Prepare work schedules to assure adequate coverage. Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcomes studies and research initiatives. Assist in orienting new caregivers. Participate in continuing education and in-service educational programs. Minimum qualifications
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) Two years of recent RN experience Strong demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills Preferred qualifications

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium Work — Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. Personal Protective Equipment
