Overview
The Department of Computer Science at Ithaca College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting August 2026. We seek a dynamic teacher-scholar committed to undergraduate education and to contributing to the continued evolution of our collaborative and forward-looking computer science program.

Areas of interest and qualifications A Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field is required. We welcome applicants with teaching experience and a strong commitment to preparing students professionally through an immersive, interdisciplinary liberal arts education. Recent doctoral candidates who are ABD (All But Dissertation) are encouraged to apply. Applicants from all areas of computer science are welcome, with particular encouragement for those specializing in artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, media-focused computation, computer systems, or cybersecurity.
Responsibilities and opportunities New faculty will have the opportunity to shape and teach in programs launching in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, and related minors in Artificial Intelligence, App Development, Data-Centric Computing, and Computer Systems. They will develop courses aligned with their areas of expertise. The department emphasizes small class sizes, close faculty-student collaboration, and project-based learning. Faculty are empowered to take initiative, contribute to shared governance, and help guide the direction of the department. We pride ourselves on a strong culture of collegiality and consensus-driven decision-making.
