Job Summary As Information Technology Project Coordinator at Ithaca College, you will play a pivotal role in the success of IT initiatives on campus by coordinating schedules, communications, issues, risks, and resources for information technology projects. This role’s primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth and organized operation of project management processes across multiple efforts.

Job Details This is a temporary position through December, 2026, with the possibility of extension. Location is in-person (on campus) or hybrid option for local candidates; potential for remote option for non-local candidates.
Job Responsibilities
Project Coordination
Coordinate project activities, resources, communications, and schedule for multiple IT projects concurrently.
Develop project plans, track tasks and progress, and facilitate removal of blockers to ensure timely completion.
Monitor and report on project progress and potential challenges to project sponsor and stakeholders.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Facilitate meetings and communication between project team members, external resources, and campus stakeholders. Create and execute communication plans.
Schedule and lead project-related meetings (kick-off, requirements gathering, user feedback sessions, status presentations).
Support training initiatives and assist in creating technical documentation and educational resources for end-users.
Documentation Management
Create and maintain project documentation (charters, plans, schedules, scope statements, meeting notes, decision logs, process maps, communication plans, status updates).
Organize project documentation in the appropriate data repository for easy accessibility by team members and stakeholders.
Resource Management
Assist with resource scheduling and management, including training initiatives to enhance team skills.
Ensure team members have the necessary resources to complete tasks.
Risk Management
Identify potential risks and issues that may impact timelines or outcomes.
Develop and implement issue solutions and risk mitigation strategies, escalating critical issues as needed.
Product Research and Contract Review
Conduct research on IT products and services relevant to ongoing and upcoming projects; compare features, functionalities, and costs to aid decision-making.
Assist in the IT contract evaluation process, ensuring compliance and efficient outcomes.
Equity and Inclusion
Develop, demonstrate, and promote multicultural awareness and contribute to cultivating an inclusive College community.
Demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion; promote a civil, inclusive environment for staff, faculty, students, and visitors.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree or higher in business administration, management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
1-3 years of related experience coordinating teams or projects and/or information technology.
Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills; strong written and verbal communication.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Working knowledge of project management concepts and tools; strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (including Teams).
Preferred: Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).
Work Environment Most work is performed in a generally accessible indoor environment. The incumbent will operate a personal computer and related office equipment. This is a temporary position through December 2026, with potential for extension. In-person (on campus) or hybrid option available for local candidates; potential for remote option for non-local candidates.
