Overview The position is for the

Lafayette, CA

office. The role involves design and production responsibilities on projects of varying scale, including energy-efficient building systems such as electrical design, power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, emergency power, UPS, renewable energy systems, fire alarm systems, and low-voltage systems/coordination (IT, safety, security, access control).

Responsibilities

Design electrical systems, power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, emergency power, UPS, renewable energy systems, fire alarm systems, and low-voltage systems/coordination to support bidding and construction for various projects.

Prepare, read, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.

Interact with owners, clients, architects, and contractors with verbal and written communication.

Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.

Collaborate with other engineers and team members to meet project deadlines.

Apply engineering principles to design, analyze, and evaluate products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements.

Design and specify system components to ensure conformance with project goals and requirements.

Research and analyze client design requirements, manuals, and data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance needs.

Review contractor submittals (shop drawings, etc.) for conformance with contract documents.

Desired Experience

1+ years of experience with MEP design

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering

FE Registration preferred with potential for PE registration

Experience with Revit/AutoCAD

Qualifications

Strong technical background in electrical engineering and a proactive, client-focused mindset
