CMTA, a Legence Company, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with 8+ years of experience in consulting engineering. The position is responsible for designing and overseeing electrical systems, power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, emergency power, UPS, renewable energy systems, fire alarm systems, low-voltage systems/coordination (IT, safety, security, access control), and related work for bidding and construction on various projects. This role involves working with a team to design energy-efficient buildings for CMTA’s clients and is located onsite in the Lexington office. Key Responsibilities
Lead and guide design and construction projects internally within the office and externally with clients and contractors. Provide guidance, support, mentorship, and leadership to staff engineers. Prepare, read, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications. Professionally stamp drawings, prepare affidavits, etc. Interact with owners, clients, architects, and contractors as needed with verbal and written communication. Lead and guide meetings as needed. Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks. Confer with other engineers and personnel to complete project deadlines. Apply knowledge of engineering principles and research, design, and evaluate products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements. Design and specify system components to ensure conformance with project goals and requirements. Research and analyze clients’ design requirements, manuals, and other data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications. Review contractor submittals (shop drawings, etc.) to determine conformance with contract documents. Desired Experience
8+ years of experience with MEP design Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET Accredited school Professional Engineer (PE) License Experience with internal and external project management Experience in MEP design and specifications Experience with managing, maintaining and creating Owner and Architect relationships Experience with Healthcare, Higher Education, K-12 and Commercial market sectors Experience with Revit/AutoCAD About Legence
