Position summary Ensures timely and efficient completion of engineering projects to achieve company, customer, and product reliability and cost objectives. Leads technical projects or phases of projects involving design and development of new or core products and/or processes. Manages technical scope, cost, and schedule for assigned projects, and plans and coordinates efforts of the project staff. Serves as a technical advisor on major projects. Projects are designed to develop project management and leadership skills and to build knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers.

Essential Functions

Has direct reports: Does not have direct reports; may have indirect or matrix responsibility to guide the technical work of a team to achieve project milestones.

Interfaces with customers and suppliers to present project status and coordinate requirements; negotiates changes in schedules or methodologies as needed.

Develops project objectives by reviewing proposals and plans; ensures schedule, cost, and technical expectations are met through effective leadership.

Creates project plans and milestones based on product/system design and customer requirements; assigns staffing and resources.

Maintains formal and informal customer interfaces to present status and feasibility of changes; gains customer confidence in program support.

Manages project plan changes, cost control, quotes, and expenditures; may oversee outsourced contracts; may act as Control Account Manager for earned value management (EVM).

Prepares and reviews technical deliverables (schematics, layouts, algorithms, test plans, reports) and ensures regulatory and IP considerations are addressed.

Ensures consistent engineering standards, processes, and documentation; maintains engineering history and project files.

Maintains professional knowledge through education, publications, benchmarking, and professional associations.

Acts as a technical and project contact; identifies mentoring needs and may mentor other employees.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a science discipline; Master’s degree or MBA preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) certification is also acceptable.

Typically 7–9 years of related experience with deep knowledge of engineering principles, standards, and practices; ability to apply knowledge to related fields.

Strong communication skills to present status, actions, and recommendations; ability to respond to inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or internal teams.

Effective project management and organizational skills; ability to facilitate team interactions and develop capabilities.

Proficiency with software, data analysis, design, and project management tools; ability to apply Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.

Ability to establish and track performance against goals and guide the team through milestones.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: $104,400.00 to $174,150.00 annually.

Participation in Annual Incentive Program.
