Job Summary:
The Quality Engineer II role defines and implements quality assurance solutions to a wide range of complex issues. Ensures high reliability and proper performance per product requirements. Analyzes reports and defective products to determine trends and recommend corrective actions.
Core Responsibilities
Lead Parker Fluid Systems Division ZDP strategy and execution for the North Hollywood site.
Plan and implement quality assurance activities for internal production, suppliers, and customer orders.
Lead and coordinate Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities to ensure parts and processes meet customer and internal requirements.
Provide quality support to customers and internal functions, including Manufacturing, Assembly, and Test.
Review contractual requirements, specifications, and drawings with emphasis on quality; develop compliance matrices for customer acceptance.
Translate customer, regulatory, and code requirements into manufacturing work instructions, quality engineering instructions, and control plans.
Flow down customer requirements to suppliers and verify supplier compliance.
Review and approve product drawings, Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), manufacturing process plans, and First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
Drive efficient processing of customer RMAs, perform thorough failure analysis, and ensure timely, clear communication with customers.
Support internal and customer audits of systems, processes, and products.
Administer the non‑conforming material control process, including Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
Facilitate assembly and test process improvements and lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities.
Develop and maintain reporting systems to ensure accurate data for department KPIs.
Job Requirements
Education: must have a completed Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
5+ years of quality experience in an aerospace, automotive or other regulated manufacturing environments.
2+ years of problem‑solving techniques (8D, Fishbone, 5‑why, PFMEA).
Strong knowledge of quality engineering practices, PPAP/APQP, control plan development.
Excellent written and verbal communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, or hydromechanical assembly and testing processes.
Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) proficiency.
SAP experience and familiarity with Net‑Inspect or similar supplier portals.
Knowledge of Lean & Six Sigma tools.
Knowledge of quality engineering disciplines & Manufacturing concepts.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and statistical tools.
Experience working with major customer portals (e.g., Boeing, GE, Collins Aerospace).
This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.
Competitive Compensation
Pay Range: $83,250 to $138,550 annually
