Disassembly Technician
reports directly to the
Disassembly Lead
and is responsible for ensuring all assigned tasks are executed correctly and in accordance with FAR, current manufacturers’ instructions, and this manual as applicable. Disassembly Technicians ascertain the shop equipment and tooling used during the assigned tasks, ensure they are in serviceable working condition, and maintain workstations in a clean and orderly manner. They ensure the technical data is correct and current pertaining to the task being performed and that required work records are properly executed. Disassembly Technicians may not delegate their duties and responsibilities to any other person. They perform mechanical and/or machining repair operations per instructions provided through Shop Travelers / Routers and Repair Manuals authorized for use by the Quality Assurance/Technical Publications Manager. Disassembly Technician assignments at LGT are supported with Training Records and are classified as Disassembly; Assembly; Polish; Paint; Machining; Bushing & Hone; Bushing Installation. Other classifications may be added as the LGT Operation expands. Location:
The right candidate for this role must be residing in South Florida, as the position is fully onsite. Duties and Responsibilities: Verify all technician data is available and current. Verify all appropriate tooling is on hand to perform duty. Verify unit is complete and not missing any components. Disassemble all incoming units. Identify all sub-components and verify all Life Limited Parts against the customer or last operator furnished listing. List all serial numbers on check in sheet and forward completed form to the respective department. Remove bushing, lube fittings, sealants, paint, primer, etc. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by your supervisor. Qualifications: Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate in English. Good written and oral communication skills. Ability to perform job functions with little or no supervision. High School Diploma or equivalent. A minimum of five years’ experience on disassembly and overhaul of landing gears. Prior experience in working in a FAA / EASA Certified Repair Station Operation. Physical Requirements: Excellent manual dexterity and fine motor skills. Frequent use of arms, hands, and fingers is required to perform functions such as reaching, grabbing, pinching, picking, holding and turning. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Frequent use of hand and power tools weighing up to 15lbs. The employee is interchangeably required to sit, stand, and walk during their shift. May be required to bend, stoop, or kneel to grab supplies or materials. Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull or move parts, and objects across the production floor, weighing 75 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. May be required to reach at or below shoulder level and reach overhead for short to moderate periods. Must be able to hear, understand, and distinguish sounds and speak clearly. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (safety glasses, gloves, safety shoes, and hearing protection) with or without reasonable accommodation. Job Type : Full-time.
