Overview
Oceaneering Integrity Management and Digital Solutions (IMDS) delivers capability, safety, and reliability. We help our customers make informed decisions and manage risk associated with their oil and gas, renewables, and maritime assets–any time, any place. This position is for a Senior Structural Engineer to support the structural integrity management of floating offshore assets in the Gulf of America. The role involves leading inspection planning and execution, analyzing structural data, and ensuring the long-term integrity of topsides, hulls, and mooring systems. The candidate should have a strong background in offshore integrity management, facility engineering, inspection technologies, and technical leadership, with familiarity with Gulf of America operated assets. The service is to be in line with Oceaneering and client requirements and applicable onshore/offshore legislation.
Work Location and Travel
Hybrid environment with in-office work Tuesday to Thursday.
Travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as the technical lead for structural inspection activities, ensuring quality and compliance. Provide technical support in Structural Engineering, supported as necessary by other engineers in the structural department.
Provide support to clients in Integrity Management / Inspection Management / Repair activities for structural components in floating assets, fixed jackets; topsides and onshore structures in accordance with contract requirements.
Prepare and maintain structural inspection and integrity management strategies based on risk-based or time-based methodologies as appropriate.
Mobilize offshore for in-person oversight of inspections (at least one week per month).
Develop and issue detailed inspection work packs/work scopes and ensure all relevant parties are fully informed.
Manage production and maintenance of structural inspection plans and assist in meeting planning gate criteria.
Coordinate required structural inspections with other activities as necessary.
Review and endorse all relevant structural inspection reports, including 3rd party NDE reports, and confirm compliance with strategies.
Perform first-pass assessment of reported defects and advise if conditions present an immediate threat to structural integrity.
Investigate structural issues and engage 3rd parties as needed to complete the scope.
Lead and oversee rope access inspection teams and UT campaigns; plan for POB and equipment; support Topsides and In-Service Inspection Plans (ISIPs).
Liaise with offshore inspection teams (RAT, UAV, ROV) to continuously improve jacket and topside inspection scopes.
Produce annual structural inspection summary reports and regular KPI/technical/client reports.
Support Project Managers and Principal Structural Engineer in contract delivery through technical assurance and cost management.
Ensure compliance with regulatory/client requirements and safety standards; adherence to API, DNV, ABS and related regulations.
Promote specialist technology to improve service efficiency and resolve issues; liaise with clients on implementation as appropriate.
Participate in bids and proposals, including scope assessment and CTR estimation.
Drive continuous improvement in service delivery; maintain client relationships and business growth.
Provide technical leadership in structural engineering, delegate work to junior engineers, and review outputs.
Support staff development by sharing best practices.
Carry out periodic audits of discipline activity against Oceaneering and client inspection standards.
Non-essential duties

Assist with any other duties as needed.
Undertake specific projects as instructed by management.
Qualifications REQUIRED:
Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in offshore structural integrity management in the oil and gas industry.
Minimum 3 years of experience performing offshore topsides inspections.
Experience overseeing rope access inspections, UT thickness measurements, and damage assessments; familiarity with manning and equipment requirements.
Strong leadership, communication, and reporting skills.
Ability to work in a dynamic offshore environment and manage multiple priorities.
Experience implementing topsides and In-Service Inspection Plans (ISIPs) and/or inspection strategies.
Willingness to go offshore and/or to remote land sites for up to 21 days.
Specific vision abilities for fieldwork, validated by annual eye testing.
DESIRED:
Experience with hull and/or mooring integrity management and hull inspections.
Proficiency in structural analysis tools.
Offshore safety certifications.
Knowledge of Gulf of America regulatory frameworks.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
