Overview

STV is seeking a Transit Rail Vehicle Engineering Specialist to join our Vehicles department to support of our clients in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virgina area. This will include varying degrees of on-site and remote work with occasional travel needs as projects may require. Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and develop engineering activities for the specification, construction, and maintenance of public transit rail vehicles, including high-speed, commuter, light-rail, and subway systems. Prepare and adapt drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and reports to ensure compliance with industry standards and accepted engineering practices. Support testing, design, and modification activities for vehicle systems and components, applying mechanical and/or electrical engineering principles. Participate as a member of client support field teams, providing technical expertise and delivering project documentation and files. Evaluate vendor capabilities, specify materials and equipment, and contribute recommendations for system improvements or design modifications. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline. 3-7 years of relevant experience in rail vehicle design, maintenance, or system engineering. Strong knowledge of transit vehicle systems, specifications, and industry standards. Experience preparing technical specifications, calculations, and engineering reports. Ability to collaborate across disciplines, apply sound engineering judgment, and develop innovative approaches to technical challenges. Able to work independently and manage tasks and projects to drive desired outcomes. Compensation

Compensation Range: $71,981.92 - $95,975.90 Diversity and Inclusion
