Overhead Electric Transmission Engineer II
to join our Power & Manufacturing - Electric Transmission & Substations Team at our Atlanta, GA office or working remotely. This position offers fully remote capabilities; however, occasional on-site responsibilities may be required if you are located near a CHA office. Your Impact
CHA’s team of electric transmission and substation professionals prioritizes safety and technical excellence—from initial surveying and assessment to planning, permitting, research, and comprehensive design and engineering. We deliver top-tier solutions for new and existing electrical power infrastructure, covering all types and full spectrum of power delivery systems (AC/DC, overhead/underground, submarine, indoor/outdoor). We work with insulation mediums including air, gas, liquid, or solid for transmission, distribution, and generation needs, and we handle AC/DC conversion across a range of applications, including renewable energy projects. Our expertise includes automation, SCADA, and protection and control systems. The Overhead Electric Transmission Engineer II supports design development, implementation, and technical analysis of various systems to implement new products or changes to an existing scheme to meet client needs. The role involves preparing technical reports, contract documents, and cost estimates, and managing multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to satisfy client, contractual, and company requirements. The role identifies technical discrepancies in analytical results and makes corrections. The candidate develops familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as firm and client practices and standards. Support design development, implementation, and technical analysis of overhead transmission systems to implement new products or changes to existing schemes. Prepare technical reports, contract documents, and cost estimates for engineering tasks. Work on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual, and company requirements. Identify technical discrepancies in analytical results and implement corrections. Develop familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and standards; follow firm and client practices and procedures. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in engineering is required Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required Minimum of 2 years of related engineering experience required Strong knowledge of engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, PLS-CADD, etc.) Strong theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering field Willingness to learn about the respective engineering discipline Familiarity with QA/QC procedures Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to adapt communication style to various audiences Desire to work in a collaborative team environment and assist more senior staff Proficiency with Microsoft Office software Salary
$80,000 - $85,000 Salary is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. Culture / EEO Statement
