We are seeking a Clinical Pharmacist PRN to join our team. You would provide clinical pharmacy services for all patients and ensure the safe procurement, preparation, labeling, distribution and control of all medications.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of clinical pharmacy programs to meet patient and community needs.
Provide clinical pharmacy support and execute clinical pharmacy programs for all patient areas.
Review medication orders and ensure appropriateness of drugs ordered, dosage, route and interactions; adjust dosages/schedules as appropriate per policy.
Ensure medications are safely dispensed to patients in accordance with age-related considerations.
Monitor narcotic transactions by checking all controlled substances dispensed and reconcile quantities.
Assist the department with physician consults as needed and retrieve reliable drug information from available sources.
Communicate effectively with physicians and other members of the interdisciplinary team to meet patient needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
Experience as a pharmacist in an acute-care hospital setting or completion of a general pharmacy practice residency preferred.
Current Florida Pharmacist license or license-eligible.
Eligible to sit for the North American Pharmacist Licensure Exam (NAPLEX).
Critical thinking, service excellence and strong interpersonal communication skills; ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; proficient PC skills.
