Clinical Pharmacist – HCA Florida Blake Hospital, Bradenton, FL
We are seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join our team. You would provide clinical pharmacy services for all patients and ensure the safe procurement, preparation, labeling, distribution and control of all medications.
Responsibilities
You will coordinate and assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of clinical pharmacy programs to ensure clinical services meet the needs of the patient population and community.
You will provide clinical pharmacy support and execute clinical pharmacy programs for all patient areas.
You will review medication orders and oversee technicians to ensure appropriateness of drugs, dosage, route and interactions. Adjust medications dosage/schedule as appropriate per policy.
You will ensure medications are safely dispensed to patients in accordance with age.
You will closely monitor narcotic transactions by checking all controlled substances that are dispensed and reconcile the quantity/type of narcotics leaving the pharmacy.
You will assist the department in addressing physician consults as needed. Provide timely retrieval of reliable drug information from available sources.
You will communicate effectively with physicians and/or other members of the interdisciplinary team in meeting patient needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree in Pharmacy from College of Pharmacy.
Experience as a pharmacist in an acute-care hospital setting or general pharmacy practice residency is preferred.
Current FL Pharmacist license or license eligible.
Eligible to sit for North American Pharmacist Licensure Exam (NAPLEX).
Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills; ability to read/comprehend written instructions; ability to follow verbal instructions; PC skills.
