Job Summary and Qualifications The Surgical Technologist Extern delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing delegated basic patient care services to support the surgical suite's operation. Under supervision, assists the surgical team, maintains a clean environment, and is enrolled in an approved surgical technology program with 6-8 months remaining.
What you will do in this role:
Candidate graduates in 6 to 8 months
Collaborate with the Circulating RN and Surgical Tech to organize the operating suite
Review daily cases for supplies and equipment functionality
Assist in creating sterile instrument tables and preparing for procedures
Assist with emergency and add-on cases
Provide care and comfort to patients perioperatively
Transport and position patients for surgery
What qualifications you will need:
High School Diploma or GED required
Enrolled in a Surgical Technologist program with 6-8 months left
Must be able to work a minimum of 24 hours per month
